A Grateful Egg Donor
A Grateful Egg Donor
"Their mission is to find families that need help and create emotionally positive experiences in this seemingly scary process."
This process has been nothing but a positive experience for me. I've always felt fulfillment in helping people, but even more so when I can experience genuine connection and express empathy. I knew that going into this, I would want to hear the stories of what families have gone through in trying to conceive. I can't imagine what it is like going through all the appointments, procedures, decisions, bad news, and heartbreaks that some endure before choosing to proceed with egg donation. I can, however, imagine that it takes a huge toll on your mental and physical well-being.
I am a huge believer that empathy can improve health care in immense ways. That is why I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to connect with families on this level. I hope to take what I learn from them into my future career as a healthcare professional.
Before this experience, my number one fear in life was needles. Anything with needles scared me- even just thinking about it sometimes! I felt a huge sense of empowerment when I realized I got over this fear quickly. It's amazing to look back and realize I could do the whole injection process on my own.
Of course, I don't know what I'd do without the help of Robin and Karen with Global Egg Donors. They've been with me every step of the way throughout this journey. They are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and have huge hearts. Their mission is to find families that need help and create emotionally positive experiences in this seemingly scary process. They are so good at what they do, and they make such a difference in people's lives. Along with the doctor and nurse staff, I always feel like I am in good hands. I trust this team with anything!
Before this journey, I would've never expected to be where I am today. Above all, it's shown me that there are always people out there to help. Even when you are in the lowest of lows, there is hope! I am so grateful to have had this opportunity, beyond words.
